Roshni Lodhia portrays Kangaroo Mother Care in a very empathetic way

Collaboration with Tanzanian photographer
For the first time, SolidarMed worked together with the Tanzania-born and raised photographer Roshni Lodhia as part of a photo project. She visited the Lugala Hospital and spent several days at the Kangaroo Mother Care Infant Ward. In this way she got to know the health workers, the mothers and their babies and was able to take a very personal series of photos. Already after the first day at the ward she showed herself convinced of the work of SolidarMed: "I saw what a positive influence the kangaroo method and the work of SolidarMed have on the lives of the children", Roshni Lodhia enthusiastically shared with us via Skype.

Ensuring the survival of premature infants - in the current issue of our "Fokus" magazine
The premature infant ward of the Lugala Hospital in Tanzania has been a success story since its opening in July 2019. Premature babies survive thanks to Kangaroo Mother Care and simple medical procedures. After only a few months at the limits of its capacity, the ward now urgently needs to be extended.
In the current issue of "Focus", we devote four pages to the topic of the "Kangaroo Method", highlighting various aspects of this method.
