Annual Report 2019
Although we had to postpone the 94th Annual General Meeting, our annual report for 2019 will be published on time. Here you will find a detailed insight into our project work and a transparent listing of the funds used.
The picture on the front page of the 2019 Annual Report shows Solohu Sebo from Mozambique. In conversation with Gaoussou Diakité and Anna-Katharina Bagemiel, she reports on the consequences of Cyclone Kenneth on her life and the subsequent support provided by SolidarMed in 2019.
The current pandemic shows the essential importance of strong and effective health systems. SolidarMed is working tirelessly to achieve this in all five countries in Southern Africa. People in the high valleys of Lesotho, in the remote district of Malinyi in Tanzania or in rural Zimbabwe are entitled to appropriate basic medical care. Thanks to the support of numerous donors, from foundations, companies, the public sector and our members, we have been able to generate a first-time income of over 10 million Swiss francs in 2020. 84% of these funds went directly into the projects. We thus remain an extremely effective, agile and lean organisation. Details can be found in the 2019 Annual Report.
