The mobile clinic starts rolling
This week, the first mobile clinic in Lesotho was inaugurated. It brings medical aid directly to people in remote villages.
We had promised it as our first highlight in 2020. Now the first mobile clinic in Lesotho has been inaugurated in Butha Buthe, the capital of the same-named district in the north of Lesotho. The event was well attended. The robust all-terrain vehicle brings medical aid to places where there are no roads and the journey to the nearest health centre (especially for elderly and sick people) is difficult. This clinic on wheels is equipped with the necessary medical instruments and medication. The intervention team is made up of a driver and a nurse.
In the two districts of Butha Buthe and Mokhotlong in the highlands of Lesotho, small children under the age of five are particularly exposed to health risks. SolidarMed is therefore committed to providing newborns with targeted aid to protect them from avoidable deaths. SoildarMed supports particularly vulnerable children in preventing malnutrition. This concerns especially newborns with low birth weight, orphans and HIV-infected children.
